The Robbinsville Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) and the Township Recreation Department are partnering to organize the 8th Annual Small Business Scavenger Hunt and Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 28 from 1 PM - 3PM.
For children and their families that participate, this event will be a great way to visit and learn more about some of the wonderful businesses that are located in Robbinsville. For the businesses that choose to participate, this event will bring dozens of potential customers into your store.
Here’s how the scavenger hunt will work. Participants will gather in the Foxmoor Shopping Plaza parking lot and will receive a list of clues on a haunted map that will direct them to participating businesses located in the Town Center Main Street Commons and Foxmoor Shopping Plaza areas. They’ll need to visit each one of the businesses on their list to receive a prize. Once the participants complete their list, they’ll head back to the Foxmoor Shopping Plaza parking lot to enjoy an outdoor event featuring music, food and lots of fun prizes waiting for them! Let’s not forget about the Halloween Costume Contest. There will be prizes for the best child costume, best adult and best pet costume.
We invite all of Robbinsville’s small businesses to participate! Here are the two ways you can get involved:
Option 1: Sign Your Business Up for a Spot on the Scavenger Hunt Map. If you operate a business located in Town Center, Main Street Commons or the Foxmoor Shopping Plaza, you can sign up as one of the destinations the participants will need to visit in order to complete their scavenger hunt list. You will need to either submit a clue or work with an EDAC member to create a clue to help guide participants to your business, and have someone on hand to stamp their maps when they find you. The commitment to participate is minimal, but keep in mind that you will have several dozen people visiting your business during the scavenger hunt. This will be a great opportunity for a promotional event or fun in-store activity to show people what you are all about.
Option 2: Set up a Table at the Foxmoor Shopping Plaza Parking Lot
Once the participants visit all of the businesses on their list, they’ll come back to the Foxmoor Shopping Plaza parking lot for a fun outdoor event with music, food and prizes. This will give businesses that are not located in Town Center, Main Street or Foxmoor an opportunity to set up a table and meet a large group of potential customers. Think of it as an outdoor business expo!
