Launched in 2022, the Mayors Alliance to End Childhood Hunger harnesses the individual and collective leadership of mayors to end childhood hunger in communities nationwide.
There is no excuse for children to go hungry in our country. Yet, it happens every day, in every community. The Mayors Alliance to End Childhood Hunger is a nonpartisan coalition working in partnership with Share Our Strength's "No Kid Hungry" campaign to ensure that every child has the healthy food they need to thrive.
Mayor Dave Fried joined the Alliance in the beginning of 2022 to help Robbinsville Township do its part to put an end to childhood hunger. He and his committee have taken action in this initiative by organizing two Fresh Market Food Pantry Days this summer entitled “Buy One Give One," encouraging neighbors to help neighbors by purchasing an extra dozen eggs, loaf of bread, gallon of milk or fresh produce to give to someone who may be struggling financially.
Both events were successful. As donations rolled in, they were immediately handed out to those in need. To learn more about the alliance, visit https://mayorshungeralliance.org/
