About the Planning Board:

The Planning Board prepares, adopts and amends the Township's Master Plan, reviews and provides recommendations to the Township Council regarding new/revised zoning ordinances, prepares a municipal capital improvements program, and reviews and takes action on certain applications for development.  These applications would include subdivision and site plan applications for development which fall under their jurisdiction, as well as planned development and conditional use applications. These duties, as well as those described in the Municipal Land Use Law and within the Township Ordinance, are done so through the Planning and Zoning Department.

About the Zoning Board:
The Zoning Board (also known as the Zoning Board of Adjustment) is a quasi-judicial Board. The Zoning Board hears requests for interpretation of the Zoning Ordinances, hears/decides appeals from decisions of the Zoning Officer, can decide on requested waivers, hears and makes decisions on the granting of certain applications for development under their jurisdiction, including certain variance requests and site plan, subdivision and other applications for development.  The Planning and Zoning Department works with the Zoning Board to complete these duties, as well as those described in the Municipal Land Use Law and within the Township Ordinance.

Virtual Meeting Information

Should the regularly scheduled public meetings/hearings of the Planning Board and/or Zoning Board of the Township of Robbinsville, County of Mercer, and State of New Jersey, be changed to occur virtually via video teleconferencing rather than an “in-person” meeting, they will be held by way of Zoom Webinar. The meetings will continue to begin at 7 p.m.  If it is necessary for a meeting to be changed to occur virtually, the meeting ID and passcode will be posted to the Department's website and on the meeting agenda.
