PORTLAND, OREGON - (August 17, 2016) - The Robbinsville Little League softball program turned in yet another top three performance at the 2016 World Series following an exciting 3-2 win over Central/Grandville, Michigan in the consolation game Wednesday afternoon at Alpenrose Stadium.
Southwest/Texas later defeated defending champion Southeast/North Carolina, 5-1, to win the title.
Robbinsville (5-2) scored single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings behind five strikeouts by pitcher Brynn Hopkins. Robbinsville, the 2014 World Champions, has finished in the top three in each of its appearances since 2013.
The team, coaches and parents wish to thank the hundreds of people who donated to help offset the costs of this amazing journey.
