ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - (January 26, 2023) - During Thursday's Township Council meeting, Deputy Municipal Clerk Kaitlyn Macellaro became just the second recipient of the David L. Fried Humanitarian Award.
On the afternoon of Monday, January 9, 2023, Kaitlyn rushed into action to save a co-worker who was choking and gasping for air just a few feet away. Kaitlyn performed the Heimlich Maneuver and, on her second pass, was able to dislodge the obstruction and almost assuredly saved a life. Although Kaitlyn has only been with us for a few short months, her positive impact has already been felt in a big way.
Eric Steinberg was the first recipient of the Humanitarian Award in 2020, when he stopped to comfort a critically injured motorcyclist on Route 130.
