“PRIDE MONTH”
June, 2022

WHEREAS, LGBTQ+ Americans have historically faced prejudice and discrimination in the United States and throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, Robbinsville Township recognizes the human rights of all citizens, including the right to live and love openly, and continues to support an end to all forms of prejudice and discrimination; and

WHEREAS, June is recognized as “Pride Month” – an opportunity to celebrate and remember the history of the LGBTQ+ community and show support and appreciation for LGBTQ+ residents of Robbinsville; and

WHEREAS,the Robbinsville Township Mayor, Administration and the governing body of Council are committed to cultivating an inclusive community, promoting equality and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all; and

WHEREAS,dedicated advocates and allies have worked toward equality for LGBTQ+ members of our state and within our community for decades, and continue those efforts today; and

WHEREAS, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer residents have made important contributions to the history and quality of life of our community, our State, our nation; and

NOW THEREFORE, I, David L. Fried, Mayor of the Township of Robbinsville, on behalf of Township Council, do hereby recognize June, 2022 as “Pride Month” and urge all citizens to support their LGBTQ+ family, friends and neighbors by celebrating via appropriate events and ceremonies across the state.
