ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - (November 12, 2021) - Robbinsville Township is extremely proud to announce it has received the 2021 Innovation in Governance Award for Paperless Purchasing from the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.NJLM_Logo

Like many other municipalities across New Jersey, Robbinsville has accumulated an abundance of paper over the years. Mayor Dave Fried's desire to go completely paperless during his tenure began in July, as his departments looked for a permanent solution to this problem.

Dramatically decreasing paper related to purchasing, which includes multiple copies of purchase orders and all of the back-up paperwork, was a key component of this effort. We are very proud to say our purchasing process is now entirely electronic.

Along with the obvious cost savings for materials and temporary employees for filing and archiving, the time saved allows employees to work on other projects and future cost saving ideas.

The Township will now now cast an eye toward eliminating paper checks by paying all vendors electronically by ACH - yet another tremendous budget savings in both materials and time. Robbinsville is very excited to have successfully completed this initiative, and it is excited for the future of a completely paperless municipality.
