ROBBINSVILLE, NJ – (November 7, 2017) – Running on a proven record of smart growth, tax stabilization and community service, Robbinsville Township Mayor Dave Fried was elected to a fourth term Tuesday under the new form of government in a landslide victory over challenger Sonja R. Walter.

Mr. Fried won all nine districts handily and unofficially received 2,977 votes (71%).
Ms. Walter, a former Township Councilwoman and 2009 mayoral candidate, received just 1,209 votes. That total includes mail-in votes, but not provisional ballots. Those will be tallied in the coming days.

I am grateful and appreciate the overwhelming support I have received, not just in this election but since my tenure began back in 2005. I want to thank my staff, which is among the best in the business, and my family for all of their hard work, guidance, patience and support.”

In the race for Township Council, incumbent vice president Vince Calcagno and newcomer Mike Cipriano emerged victorious with each garnering 1,955 votes. On the Board of Education ledger, Rich Young, Scott Veisz and Sharon DeVito return with three-year terms. Lisa Temple outlasted Vito Galluccio for the lone one-year term.

In addition to helping to land another Fortune 500 company in Starbucks, which opened on Route 33 on October 9, 2017, Mayor Fried has delivered two straight municipal tax cuts to mark four consecutive years of either flat or reduced taxes. Robbinsville also has been a leader in preserving close to 1,000 acres of open space, limiting residential development while still providing affordable housing for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

“When I was first elected our plan was to first tame, then ease a runaway tax burden that had been smothering our residents,” he said. “I am proud to say we’ve gone from having the highest annual municipal tax rate increase in Mercer County to the most stable.”

Mayor Fried was first selected to fill an unexpired term in 2000 under the prior Township Committee form of government. He became the first mayor directly elected by the voters and was sworn in on July 1, 2005. Mr. Fried was previously re-elected in 2009 and 2013.

Mr. Fried is the CEO of Robbinsville-based TriCore HCM, which provides integrated payroll, benefits administration and human resources management services to employers. He is married with two children and volunteers as a youth basketball coach. In 2012, TriCore became the second company Mr. Fried has vaulted into the prestigious Inc. 500/5000 as one of the nation’s fastest-growing Human Resources companies.
