RTPD: Robbinsville High School Threat "Not Credible"

RPD: Purported Threat at Robbinsville High Deemed "Not Credible"

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ – (March 7, 2017) – The Robbinsville Township Police Department has investigated the incident this afternoon which led to the temporary lockdown of Robbinsville High School and has deemed the threat “not credible.”

The person of interest detailed outside the school just after 2 p.m. Tuesday has been released without charges.

RTPD and school personnel responded immediately to a purported social media threat directed at the school and ordered a "lockdown" from approximately 2:03 p.m. to 2:10 p.m., at which time students were dismissed for the day.  After-school activities proceeded as scheduled.

“The response by both school administrators and the Robbinsville Police Department was swift and appropriate,” Police Chief Chris Nitti said. “All of the safety protocols put in place worked perfectly. Ultimately, after further investigation, the threat simply was not credible enough to warrant additional action at this time.”
