ABOUT THE ROBBINSVILLE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL CLERK


The Municipal Clerk and the staff in the Clerk's office report to the Township Council, the legislative branch of government. The position of Municipal Clerk is a statutory position, requiring state certification and continuing education. The Municipal Clerk, as Secretary to the Township Council, is the recipient of any correspondence or reports addressed to the Council Members. In this form of government any correspondence for the mayor should go through the Business Administrator's office.

In addition to serving as the Secretary to the Municipal Corporation and Custodian of the Seal and all minutes, books, bonds, contracts and archival records, the Clerk also serves as the Registrar of Vital Statistics recording and issuing birth, marriage/civil union, domestic partnership and death records that occurred in Robbinsville Township. 

The Clerk's office is also a major source of information for residents. As such, Open Public Record requests are processed through this office. The Office of the Township Clerk is also responsible for maintaining and issuing various licenses and permits, such as dog, special events, food trucks, bingo/raffles, liquor and more.

Additionally, the Municipal Clerk is the chief administrative officer in all elections held in the municipality, responsible for assisting the County and public with elections and voting.
