Robbinsville Welcomes Smires & Associates
ROBBINSVILLE, N.J. -- Mayor Dave Fried and members of the Robbinsville Township Council today formally welcomed Owner Ed Smires, Broker-of-Record Mike Elliot and 30 agents at a formal ribbon-cutting at Smires & Associates. The office is located at 2355 Route 33.
“The early success of Smires & Associates is just another sign that Robbinsville is a great place to do business,” Mayor Fried said. “We wish Ed and his team well, and we hope they have a long and successful run in Robbinsville.”
Smires & Associates opened during the winter; owner Ed Smires waited for the warm weather for a celebration of its opening. “We started with 11 agents on December 8th and we’re already up to 30,” said Smires, a longtime professional in the area real estate market.
Smires & Associates is based in the Robbinsville, Hamilton and Allentown area, but the sales force extends through northern Burlington, southern Middlesex, the Monmouth panhandle, and the balance of Mercer County. “Our primary market is the Route 195 corridor,” Elliot said.
Both Smires and Elliot see the area real estate market turning the corner this spring. “The worst is behind us,” Smires said. With the recession easing, consumers see opportunities in the market. They now feel confident that their employment is stable, he said.
Smires & Associates puts its emphasis on promoting local properties rather than a national brand. “Bigger isn’t necessarily better,” Smires said. He and Elliot have both worked for national real estate companies, and they feel strongly that too much of the marketing emphasis gets put on the brand name, not the homeowner. So far, they feel their formula is working – they had 80 pending transactions in late April.

Mayor Dave Fried cuts the ribbon Friday, May 14, 2010 at Smires & Associates Real Estate, with Council Rich Levesque, far right, holding the ribbon. Owner Ed Smires, center, in right shirt, is all smiles. Also on hand is Councilwoman Chris Ciaccio.
