TOWNSHIP AND SCHOOL DISTRICT  REACH AGREEMENT ON SECURITY CAMERAS

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - (December 8, 2014) - Guided by a memorandum drafted by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, Robbinsville Township and the school board reached an agreement to allow police officers access to security cameras inside its schools. The agreement allows police officers "immediate remote access" to live feeds in the event of an emergency or crisis. The police department is to relinquish its access as soon as the situation is resolved and file a report after each time the cameras are accessed.
"When you think about school and education, the first thing you want for your kids is to have a great education," Mayor Dave Fried told The Times. "But the most important thing is just having the kids come home at the end of the day. With all the things happening across the country, making sure we keep our kids safe is our No. 1 priority."
