Dan Schuberth Elected Township Council President at 2017 Reorganization Meeting

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - (January 5, 2017) - Robbinsville Township officially opened it's new municipal building Thursday as part of the 2017 Township Council Reorganization Meeting, the first public meeting at the new facility located at 2298 Route 33.

Dan Schuberth was elected Council President and Vince Calcagno returns for his sixth stint as Vice President.

DS-reorg1Mr. Schuberth was sworn into office by Mayor Dave Fried in just his second year serving on the governing body. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College (B.A.) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.S.). He returned to U-Penn in the Fall of 2016 to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Administration (M.P.A.) while working full time as Regional Operations Manager for McMaster-Carr, a Robbinsville-based industrial supply company. Mr. Schuberth was elected to his first term on Township Council in November, 2015. He served as Chairman of the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) from 2012 to 2015, where he helped create a vibrant network among Robbinsville's small business owners and encouraged new businesses to open in town. He also served as Mayor Fried's representative on the Township Planning Board in 2015 and as the Council representative in 2016.

VC-reorg1A tireless advocate for those who suffer from from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and mental illness, Mr. Schuberth volunteers as a Director on the Board of the Mercer County Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Mercer).  Mr. Schuberth has lived in the Town Center section of Robbinsville since 2010 with his wife, Dr. Natalie Schuberth.

Mr. Calcagno is the longest-tenured member of Council. He first was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Ed Nelson in 1994 as part of the former Township Committee form of government, before serving two terms as Mayor in 1999 and 2004. He also was Deputy Mayor in 1998 and 2000.  He currently serves as Council liaison to the Senior Citizen Advisory Council.

Mr. Calcagno and his wife, Ellie, reside in Robbinsville and have four children. The remaining members of Council - Ron Witt, Christine Ciaccio and Sheree McGowan - are unchanged.
