Township Council
Dave Boyne was elected to Township Council in May 2005, when voters installed the entire five-member Council following a change to a nonpartisan form of government. He served as Council vice president from July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2007. After being re-elected to a four-year term in May 2007, Dave served a one-year term as Council President.
Dave has 35 years of experience as an auditor, accountant and senior financial officer. He is currently the chief financial officer at Home Delivery America, where he is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, cash management, forecasts, banking, purchasing, information technology, and maintenance of client relationships.
As a member of Council, Dave served as a member of the former Municipal Utilities Authority until he advocated its incorporation into the township government, bringing savings and efficiency for ratepayers and taxpayers. He has served as Council liaison to the Recreation Committee and the School Board for four years, and was liaison to the Open Space committee during his first year on Council. He sponsored legislation to keep convicted sex offenders from living and loitering near township schools and parks, and he supported a local ordinance to curb underage drinking.
Dave was recently named the Class III member of the Planning Board, which will allow him to balance support for economic growth on Route 130 with efforts to preserve remaining open space.
Dave and his wife, Carol, have lived in the township for 17 years. They have two children.
