Rich was selected in August 2008 to fill a vacancy on Township Council; he was elected without opposition the following November to complete a term that expires in June 2011. On July 1, 2009, Rich was elected Council President.

Rich is a graduate of Manhattan College, Riverdale, N.Y., with undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics.

He currently works for a government relations and public relations firm in Trenton, the state capital. He has an extensive background working with state and local governments to advocate on behalf of non-profit organizations, including all of New Jersey’s teaching hospitals. Over the years, Rich has worked to make sure the state lives up to its responsibilities to provide quality health care and a sound education to its residents.

Prior to joining Township Council, he served on the State Council on Local Mandates, a body charged with ensuring that state government bears the cost of the requirements it passes to municipalities. He previously served on the township’s Open Space Advisory Committee. He currently serves as Council liaison to the Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Municipal Alliance Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse.

As a Council member, Rich has worked to increase the Township’s efforts to combat substance abuse, especially among teens and young adults. He sponsored the legislation that created Robbinsville’s Municipal Alliance.

Rich lives in the Washington Town Center section of Robbinsville.
