Directions to Municipal Clerk's Office

The Municipal Clerk and the staff in the Clerk's office report to the Township Council. The position of Municipal Clerk is a statutory position, requiring state certification and continuing education. The Municipal Clerk, as Secretary to the Township Council, is the recipient of any correspondence or reports addressed to the Council Members. In this form of government, the Municipal Clerk does not report to the Mayor and any correspondence for the Mayor should go through the Business Administrator.

In addition to serving as the Secretary to the Municipal Corporation, Custodian of the Seal and all minutes, books , bonds, contracts and archival records, the Clerk also serves as chief administrative officer in all elections held in the municipality, and issues various licenses and permits, such as dog, bingo and raffles, liquor, etc.

Among the items available in the Clerk's Office are road maps, voting district maps, zoning maps, copies of ordinances and copies of minutes of the meetings of the governing body. Each map is available for $7.00; copies of ordinances, minutes and other data are $.75 for each page for the first 10 pages, $.50 for each page 11 through 20; and $.25 for every page thereafter.
