Why Robbinsville?
In 2007, voters changed our name from Washington Township to Robbinsville. That’s not the only thing that has changed.
Ours is a community rooted in history, yet committed to moving toward a brighter future. We are blessed with an outstanding location at the intersection of the New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 195 and Route 130, making us an ideal center for warehousing and logistics. We are close to New York City, Philadelphia, the state capital of Trenton, rail stops on the Northeast Corridor, and we’re only a half hour from the Jersey Shore. From Robbinsville, you can access high-tech jobs and horse farms, restaurants and shopping in every price range, and outstanding institutions of higher education.
What makes Robbinsville special, however, is that it’s a great place to live. Robbinsville High School, which opened in the fall of 2005, already boasts Ivy League and Tier I college entrants among its graduates, as well as several state-championship sports teams. Robbinsville also sent teams to the Little League Softball World Series in 2008 and 2010, and we are home to outstanding youth athletic facilities with top-flight volunteer parent organizations to match. Robbinsville takes care of its own through Meals on Wheels, the annual Tomm May Run, and we even have our own St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Robbinsville has done much in recent years to improve the climate for large and small businesses. Our Master Plan update of 2006-2007 envisioned new uses for Route 130, and our Council followed through with both a Highway Commercial ordinance and a revised sign ordinance. Folding the former Municipal Utilities Authority into the township government has saved ratepayers money and trimmed time and cost for developers. We are willing to embrace modern redevelopment tools, if necessary, to bring projects to sites where growth is difficult.
If you tried to come to Robbinsville years ago and weren’t happy, all I ask is this: Give us another look!
